I had a hankerin' for pita bread a couple weeks ago and my Martha Stewart patronus was rarin' to come out one night. So I went onto the Kitchn's website and found a recipe for pita and picked up some Zaatar from a nearby local grocery store.
A couple test runs and an overly sensitive smoke alarm later, I got a beautiful pita! I make vegan food! I make my own bread! I buy shit from Amazon but I live the authentic life!!!
I still don't really understand what the hashtag, #liveauthentic means. I think it's a mix of camping, wearing work boots, squeezing yourself into raw selvedge denim, and Columbus-ing simple peasant food from other countries. But I felt pretty authentic and self righteous with my hashtag and authentic bread.
